Biomedical Technician / Equipment Support Specialist – LEVEL III
Location: Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System West Campus
A two-year associate degree or higher in an applied science or equivalent military training.
Demonstrated competency to perform operational verification procedures, planned maintenance, and repair service on various medical equipment. Maintains clinical equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan. Demonstrates a proficiency in skills and tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of complex biomedical equipment. Capable of educating others including clinical staff related to the technical integration of the device/system. Basic knowledge and experience with radiology, respiratory, and laboratory medical equipment.
A minimum of five years of hospital or healthcare experience performing medical equipment maintenance. *Skills repairing and maintaining X-ray devices is highly preferred.
Understanding of regulatory agencies’ requirements, industry regulatory requirements and International Standard Organization standards.
Familiarity with the setup and application of test equipment.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical literature, schematics, and drawings.
Pay Range: $35.63 -$ 37.51 per hour
Annualized: $74,115 – $ 78.016
20 – 30 percent travel around the Montgomery, AL are ,ay be required
Contract Length: 1 -year long-term government contract with full benefits
